Former "Xena" co-star Renee O'Connor was reportedly slated to star in an upcoming Sci-Fi Channel movie called Xenophobia, but has dropped out of the project. She is, however, reportedy headed to Bulgaria to film Alien Apocalypse with Bruce Campbell and Lee Majors. The film is written and directed by Josh Beck with some writing credit going to former "Xena" executive producer Rob Tapert. O'Connor also has another film in the works, according to a report on The Australian Xena Information Page. O'Connor has been working on a friend's movie playing the part of a single mom in the National Guard who may be assigned to go to Iraq. The film will reportedly be called One Weekend A Month, no details as of yet on when the film might be out.
Lucy Lawless Goes Broadway For AIDS Benefit
The former star of "Xena: Warrior Princess" is known for being very charity-minded. With the support of her fans, Lucy Lawless has helped to raise untold amounts of funds for various charities - including those benefiting the gay community and AIDS organizations. Lawless recently had a costume donated from her cameo in Eurotrip to an auction to raise money for The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to promoting tolerance for gay and questioning teenagers and to aid in suicide prevention among that group.
Lawless' next big charity appearance will be at the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation (REAF) Help Is On The Way Broadway...And All That Jazz tenth anniversary gala on August 2nd in San Francisco. The event will benefit AIDS organizations such as BAY Positives & the Center for AIDS Services in California. In addition to appearing at the event, Lawless will break out her sultry pipes and sing at the gala. Two costumes from her hit syndicated series Xena will also be donated for an auction to raise funds for REAF. Help Is On The Way has become the Bay Areas largest annual AIDS benefit concert and one of the Bay Areas primary sources of funding for many local AIDS service agencies
